Loughton looking to make sure of league status

| Loughton vice captain Mike Estall is hoping the Hornbeam Road men can end the season on a high |
LOUGHTON will hope to make sure of their Essex Two status in front of a large crowd at Hornbeam Road on Saturday.
The hosts, who sit third bottom in the table ahead of the visit of Kings Cross Steelers remain unsure because of the structuring of the leagues whether they have already done enough to stay up.
But with the incentive that a win with a points margin of 22 would also put them above the Steelers, there is certainly all to play for on Chairman's Day for Loughton.
A defeat for the home side could however enable second bottom Pegasus Palmerians to leapfrog them in the table and leave their Essex Two status firmly in the balnce.
But following a moral boosting 7-10 win at Pegasus in their last fixture, the Loughton camp is in a positive mood ahead of the last match of the season.
Veteran inside centre Mike Estall, who was forced to sit out the last game with a chest infection returns, and is convinced the Hornbeam Road men will end what has been an otherwise disappointing campaign on a high.
He said: "Because of the structuring of the leagues you never quiet know if your safe or not.
"In any case we are going out there to get a win and hopefully end the season on a high.
"We lost at their place 20-17 in the league just before Christmas, although have beaten them twice this year in friendly matches including one game at our place.
"Being Chairman's Day at the club there will be 30 or so members sitting down for dinner before the game, so hopefully we will have a good support behind us that will inspire us to go out and get the result we need to make 100 per cent sure of our league status."
