Ongar hoping to fly away with Ravens win

| Action from Ongar's home clash with Ravens last season |
ONGAR go into this weekend's league clash against Ravens buoyed by a battling performance against superior opposition last Saturday.
They lost out 20-7 to Bishop's Stortford in a friendly, but putting a battling display. And while the Love Lane men were thrashed by inconsistent Ravens when the two squared up earlier in the season. That time the Ilford-based visitors ran out 44-5 winners, and the defeat triggered a run of three defeats on the bounce for Ongar.
The pair prop up Essex Three. The Love Lane men lie second bottom on six points, nestled above a Ravens side on negative points after failing to field a team on more than one occasion this campaign.
But a home win for Ongar this weekend, combined with defeat for Stanford Le Hope against second place May and Baker would see them leapfrog their rivals in the table.
All the players came through the match against Stortford and are available for selection, provided the game goes ahead.
Ongar captain Dave Blake said: "We gave a poor account of ourselves when we played Ravens earlier this season, so are certainly looking for a good performance and result. With many of the first team players rested on Saturday, they are all fresh and up for a hard game."
