WHILE rivals Eton Manor and Woodford have little to play for now this season, derby pride will ensure for a hotly contested fixture at New Wilderness in this penultimate fixture of the season.

Manor, who put up a brave display before falling to defeat in last week's Essex Senior Cup final against national league outfit Southend, have seen their league form suffer as a result of their cup exploits. Ged White's men have won just once since Christmas and suffered seven defeats to leave them seventh, following a promising start to the campaign that included a 15-20 win at Woodford at the start of December.

The Highams men in contrast have eased their relegation worries with wins over Tabard and Ruislip in their last three victories.

And Peter Christey is keen to get one over on his old Woodford coaching partner White tomorrow.

He said: "Me and Ged are really good mates from when he coached here with us at Woodford.

"Hopefully I can get one over on him and get revenge for the defeat earlier in the season.

"While they did really well to get to the Essex Senior Cup final they have struggled in the league since Christmas, so hopefully we can make the most of that and secure a derby win."

Manor conterpart White said: "We need to get back on track in the league, because we've really struggled since Christmas. But form always goes out of the window in derby games and I'm sure we will really be up for this game like we are whenever we play Woodford."
