Kyle Lowry hit 24 points and DeMar DeRozan added 21 as the Toronto Raptors beat the San Antonio Spurs 86-83.

Lowry hit a crucial two-point shot with five minutes to go, after shaking off a defender with a spin and putting Toronto up 74-69. Earlier, DeRozan showed off his athleticism by beating the half-time buzzer with a floater.

The Raptors led by 14 at one point, but San Antonio’s comeback was halted when DeRozan held his nerve to sink two free throws with nine seconds left on the clock.

Toronto’s win saw them move to within two games of the Eastern Conference leaders Boston, who lost their second game in a row on Friday night.

DeMarre Carroll hit 26 points as the Brooklyn Nets went back to winning ways, beating the Miami Heat 101-95. Hassan Whiteside had 22 points and 13 rebounds for Miami.
