TOM Huddlestone has been called up to the England U21 squad to face Wales after Mark Noble pulled out through injury.
The West Ham midfielder was withdrawn from the squad after suffering back and hamstring trouble during the Hammers' 2-2 draw with Aston Villa on Sunday.
That has given Huddlestone the chance to demonstrate why he was rewarded by Fabio Capello with a call-up to the senior national squad.
The U21 international friendly is being played at Wrexham FC's Racecourse Ground on Wednesday night.
