Spurs are reported to have opened Eto'o talks

TOTTENHAM have reportedly opened negotiations with Barcelona over the transfer of striker Samuel Eto'o.

Sports paper Marca reported that Spurs are chasing the Cameroon international after Eto'o fuelled speculation that he could be on his way out of the Nou Camp.

"If things carry on next season like this, well, I want to win titles and if I can't do that here, then it will be another club," the three-time African Player of the Year told Catalan radio station RAC1, also stating that he would leave Spain if he were to leave Barcelona.

It is thought a bid of up to £27.5million would be required to prise the 27-year-old away from the Catalan giants.

Juande Ramos has set his sights high as he seeks to transform the Lilywhites into a club capable of challenging the big four of Manchester United, Chelsea, Arsenal and Liverpool. And with Dimitar Berbatov expected to depart in the summer, Ramos is keen to strengthen his attacking department.
