West Ham United loanee Alex Song says he would like to return to England if he leaves current club Barcelona for good this summer.
The 27-year-old has been a revelation since joining Hammers on a season-long loan and is surplus to requirements at Barcelona after failing to establish himself as a first-team regular at the Camp Nou.
And the Cameroon international, who has made nine Premier League starts for Sam Allardyce's side this term, has revealed his desire to return to England on a full-time basis if he leaves Spain.
He told Le10Sport: “I have always said if I left Barcelona it would be to return to England.
“This summer I could have signed for a club in Italy, France or Turkey but I never wanted to. People asked why I joined West Ham but I don’t regret it. I’d like to stay here.”
Song cost the Spanish giants £15 million in August 2012 but has made just 29 league starts since joining the Catalans.
