RUMOURS that West Ham are to leave Upton Park for a new ground have been exaggerated according to manager Alan Curbishley.
The club was reported to be actively looking to relocate and build a new stadium, possibly on the former Parcelforce site beside West Ham Underground Station, but the Hammers boss said: "I don't think the prospect of improving the Chicken Run stand has ever been poo-pooed. That's still very much there.
"If the Chicken Run was moved across and wrapped around, we're talking a 44 - 45,000 all-seater stadium. That makes us a big club."
Curbishley, whose wife grew up in Wilson Road beside the ground, added: "I've heard all the rumours about what might happen to us in the future, but I've not really thought too much about that. I've just been concentrating on West Ham."
The Olympic Board last week ruled out the possibility of the east London club relocating to Stratford's Olympic Stadium after the 2012 games.
