IT’S all a bit doom and gloom, writes Fan’s View correspondent Katherine Alder.

As I write this, there is a lot of negativity surrounding my beloved West Ham United. I’m normally one for trying to remain positive at all times, but after five defeats in our opening seven games and a lot of negative press surrounding other areas off the pitch, it’s proving difficult.

Let’s start with where we are in the table.

Currently the Hammers are sitting not so pretty in 18th place, getting just four points from a possible 28. It’s a far cry from last season already. We are leaking goals this campaign, and some of our new signings are distinctly underwhelming. Poor Michail Antonio will be in goal next.

Of course, we haven’t been helped by injuries, with at least six of the first-team squad currently out of action. Hopefully the international break will give some of them the breather they need to get back into the team, and we can start getting some points. With Bilic reportedly only having another two games to save his job, at least one win from those is a must.

Some of the Big Sam scandal could still have implications for our club.

Firstly, he claimed Enner Valencia was under third party ownership when we bought him. After the previous scandal which surrounded West Ham when they ‘bought’ Tevez and Mascherano, that was not welcome news.

There was also speculation around Ravel Morrison when he was at West Ham, as he spoke out about Big Sam’s agent and said unless players signed for him, they weren’t going to get first-team football. At the time, it was put down to a player with a poor attitude making excuses. But now all of this has come out, there may be more truth to this than was first thought. Morrison tweeted a simple ‘no 1 listened to a word I said (sic)’ when the news about Allardyce surfaced. I guess we’ll never know.

The stadium is also still a reason for annoyance for a lot of fans, with many saying the view promised to them when they bought season tickets of being much closer to the pitch has not been borne out in reality. If this is true, it’s one of many issues supporters have with the new ground.

There is also a serious lack of security around fans moving around the stadium. Currently, home fans have been able to move freely between the concourses and go right through the away area without being stopped. I for one am quite concerned about the cup game against Chelsea if this is going to continue.

I am going to end on a positive note, however. The fans were immense against Middlesbrough on Sunday.

We can and will make the difference - come on you Irons.
