West Ham duo Javier Hernandez and Manuel Lanzini have been named in Mexico and Argentina’s provisional squads for the World Cup later this summer.

Hernandez is Mexico’s all-time leading goal scorer having scored 49 times in 100 caps and has been included in his country’s 28 man squad which will be whittled down to 23 after warm up matches against Wales and Scotland.

Manged by Juan Carlos Osorio, Mexico have been drawn in Group F for the World Cup in Russia, where they will face Germany, Sweden and South Korea.

Meanwhile, team mate Lanzini has been named in Argentina’s provisional 35 man squad having notched a brace against Everton in the final game of the Premier League season at the weekend.

Lanzini scored in his last international appearance against Italy in March and will be hoping to prove his worth in Argentina’s only warm up game against Haiti later this month.

The two time winners have been drawn in group D for the tournament, where they will take on Iceland, Croatia and Nigeria.

Elsewhere, Edmilison Fernandes and Joao Mario are waiting patiently to see if they will be named in Switzerland and Portugal’s squads, while Declan Rice has been called up by the Republic of Ireland ahead of their friendlies against France as well as the USA.
