West Ham are one of a number of clubs who are keen on Arsenal midfielder Jack Wilshere, according to reports.
Wilshere’s future with Arsenal is looking increasingly uncertain with his deal set to expire at the end of the month and it remains unclear whether he will be a part of new boss Unai Emery’s long term plans.
Having spent the 2016/17 season on loan at AFC Bournemouth, Wilshere returned to the Emirates Stadium last summer and after a slow start to the campaign, he established himself as a regular in the Gunners’ side, scoring twice in 38 appearances in all competitions.
His form saw him recalled by England in March for friendlies against Holland and Italy but he pulled out due to injury and subsequently missed out on a spot in Gareth Southgate’s World Cup squad.
After Arsene Wenger stepped down as Arsenal manager at the end of the season, Wilshere’s future under Unai Emery is looking increasingly uncertain and West Ham, AC Milan, Wolves, Sampdoria and Southampton are all reportedly keen on signing the midfielder.
Wilshere would certainly add some much needed energy to West Ham’s midfield and could be an astute signing should he be able to remain fit over the course of the season.
