West Ham’s Domingos Quina was a part of the Portugal squad which won the Uefa Under-19 European Championships after a thrilling 4-3 win over Italy.

The reported Barcelona target was substituted at the end of normal time as Pedro Correia’s strike in extra-time sealed Portugal a dramatic win.

Quina, who started all five matches at the tournament in Finland, almost put Portugal in front early on when his deflected strike forced a good save from Italy’s Alessando Plizzarri.

Portugal did take the lead in first half stoppage time through Joao Filipe and it looked like they had one hand on the trophy when Francisco Trincão notched a second with 18 minutes remaining.

But Portugal were left shell shocked when Italy substitute Moise Kean got his team back on level terms after scoring twice in the space of two minutes.

The game’s frantic pace continued in extra time as Filipe put Portugal back in front after 104 minutes, only for Italy to equalise moments later through Gianluca Scamacca.

Portugal then went straight down the other end and scored what proved to be the winner through Correia to seal the victory with eleven minutes remaining.

Quina was reportedly watched by Barcelona during the game and after his performances at the tournament in Finland, West Ham are apparently looking to offer the youngster a new contract at the London Stadium to fend off interest from the Catalan giants.

The 18-year-old has made six appearances for the Hammers and his existing deal is due to expire in East London next summer.
