West Ham will reportedly face late competition from Burnley to sign Le Harve defender Harold Moukoudi.
The Hammers have significantly strengthened their back line this summer with the additions of Ryan Fredericks, Issa Diop, Fabian Balbuena and goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski, but that hasn’t deterred Manuel Pellegrini, with the Chilean reportedly keen on bringing Moukoudi to the London Stadium.
Reports last weekend claimed that the Hammers were set to pay a fee of £10.7m for the 20-year-old defender, although the deal has apparently been held up after Le Harve requested a sell-on clause.
But the East London side may have to move quickly to snap up the French under-20 international, with Burnley also keen on the centre-back as they look to add further options to their backline, having recently secured the signature of Middlesbrough’s Ben Gibson.
Moukoudi made his debut for Le Harve in 2016 having come through the ranks at the French club and has been a regular for Ligue 2 side ever since, helping them secure a fourth place finish last season.
It has already been a summer of change for the Hammers and any deal for Moukoudi would take West Ham’s number of signings up to nine.
Should Moukoudi sign for the Irons, he could be followed through the door by Arsenal’s Lucas Perez, with the Hammers reportedly eyeing up a move for the versatile Spaniard.
