WEST Ham skipper Lucas Neill will turn 30 on Sunday and admitted that it would be a fitting time to bounce back to winning ways at rivals Spurs.

The Irons travel to White Hart Lane on the back of successive 4-0 defeats to Chelsea and Liverpool respectively.

And the Australian full back (pictured) wants to mark his personal milestone and the occassion with a morale-boosting victory against their bitter north London opponents.

He said: "I think its the perfect game now for us to bounce back and get a response.

"Because of the day it will be a great game to come back and it'd be nice to go against our rivals.

"It's Spurs so the crowd will be up for it. There is a lot of reasons to want to win it apart from the fact that we need to."

Neill revealed that Hammers coaching and playing staff held a meeting in the changing room at Anfield after Wednesday night's debacle, to discuss what went wrong in the two games.

And the defender insists that the talks have not only cleared the air, but has also highlighted the need for the squad to draw on their experiences of last season and remain united.

"We've had a really good long chat about it now and we recognise we need to demand more of each other to make sure it doesn't happen to us again," he said.

"It wasn't a dressing down, just a good honest chat, an open talk about what we can do to improve the situation.

"The important thing is we have got to stay together.

"We've all been in a difficult situation before - last season - so we know that sticking together will pull us through."

He added: "We have got to stay positive and get back on the training ground and work hard, getting the good habits back like hitting the target when you get a chance, and getting the belief back that we can score goals.

"We need to try to be the ones to score first so that we've got something to hold onto and teams have to open up against us rather than the other way round."

The east Londoners will come up against a side in Spurs who have hit the most Premier League goal at home this season - they've scored 33.

Strikers Dimitar Berbatov and Robbie Keane have been central to that impressive statistic, but Neill insists his team has more than enough talent thoughout the ranks to cope with their like.

He said: "We still believe that we've got enough to deal with those sort of players.

"We've come up against Chelsea and Liverpool now and Spurs are on a similar par to them.

"We just need to cut out the individual errors and score first."
