MEDIA speculation has intensified linking West Ham defender Anton Ferdinand with a move to Sunderland.
Black Cats boss Roy Keane is keen to bolster his back lline and has earmarked former under-21 star Ferdinand as the ideal signing.
Rumours are circulating that the Irons have already accepted a £8million bid for the 23-year-old.
Ferdinand is in the last year of his contract at Upton Park and has reportedly turned down a lucrative new deal.
The Hammers, while reluctant to sell their current longest-serving player, would not risk losing him for nothing.
The centre back is expected to make a decision on a possible move to Wearside within the next 48 hours.
