WEST HAM have completed the signing of 17-year-old full-back Davide Ferrari from Brescia Calcio on a season-long loan deal, with a view to a permanent signing.

The Hammers completed a deal for the highly-rated youngster before the summer transfer window slammed shut, but the club have only just received international clearance for the player.

He insists it is a 'dream' to sign for West Ham. “It is fantastic to be here, it is like a dream” he told the WHUFC.com. “I am very happy to be in London. I am privileged to train under Gianfranco Zola as he is one of my idols.

“I like to attack as full-back and I like to score goals but first my main aim is to be in the first-team squad and do well for the club.”

Ferrari was thrown straight into the reserves team to face Birmingham City in their Barclays Premier Reserves League South clash at the Boleyn Ground last night, starting the game at left-back before switching sides after the break. He looked comfortable on either flank and was substituted on 77 minutes.
