WEST Ham captain Nigel Reo-Coker will look back on his week's training with the England squad as more valuable experience', despite being forced to pull out of the standby squad with injury, writes Laura Burkin.

The 22-year-old midfielder suffered a slight slipped disc. He said: "It's obviously really disappointing, ut I have to listen to the advice of the doctors and do what is best for my long-term future.

"I still had a great week training with England in Portugal, working with world-class players and top-class coaches, so there is a lot I can take from that. West Ham have released on-loan Argentinian defender Lionel Scaloni. The full-back made 16 appearances for Hammers.

Squad players Trent McClenahan, Petr Mikolanda and Darren Blewitt as well as some youth players have also left the Upton Park outfit.
