WEST HAM'S reserves defeated Everton in their opening fixture of the new season thanks to a single Junior Stanislas goal.
The winger struck after 28 minutes following a swift counter-attack and it proved to be the only goal of the game.
James Tomkins, playing at the heart of the back four, cleared the ball up to striker Frank Nouble. He scampered upfield and released Freddie Sears on the left, who played a ball into the middle that wasn't dealt with by the Toffees' defence, leaving Stanislas to finish at the second attempt, after seeing his initial shot blocked on the line.
