9:30am Friday 14th September 2007

By Guardian-series »

Saturday, Sept 15, 3pm.

LAST TIME AT UPTON PARK: West Ham 2 Middlesbrough 0 (Prem Lge 31-03-2007)

HEAD-TO-HEAD: West Ham 22, Middlesbrough 23, draws 11.

FORM: Boro started the season with back to back defeats against Blackburn and Wigan. But the Riverside club looks to have steadied the ship with an away win at Fulham, a point against North East rivals Newcastle and 2-0 victory over Birmingham. Like the Hammers, Boro progressed to the next round of the Carling Cup beating Northampton Town 2-0.

DANGER MAN: After signing from Spurs for £6m, Mido has started to show the kind of form he once promised at White Hart Lane. With two goals in his first two games, the Egyptian striker looks set to prove he can be a real threat.

FUN FACT: Sky Sports presenter Chris Kamara is known to support Gareth Southgate's men. Kamara who was born in Middlesbrough, made five appearances for the club while on loan in 1993.

PREDICTION: West Ham 2 Middlesbrough 1
