Everton v West Ham, Saturday, March 22, 5.15pm, Barclays Premier League

MATCH PREVIEW

LAST MEETING: West Ham 0 Everton 2 (15-12-07, Barclays Premier League)

LAST TIME AT GOODISON PARK: Everton 2 West Ham 0 (03-12-06, Barclays Premier League)

HEAD-TO-HEAD: Everton 58 wins, West Ham 36 wins, 23 draws

FORM: For all the hype, the last week in Everton's season proved to be a bit of a downer.

Despite a superb performance, the Toffees exitted the UEFA Cup last 16 on penalties to Italian side Fiorentina.

And their bid to end the season in a Champions League spot also suffered a setback following a 1-0 defeat away at relegation-threatened Fulham.

DANGER MAN: Mikel Arteta is one of the most gifted footballers in the Premier League and is the heartbeat of th Everton side.

The 25-year-old Spaniard has fantastic ability from the set piece or open play, and remains calm when in pressured situations.

He has also chipped in with two goals from his last five appearances - not bad for a playmaker.

FUN FACT: One-time snooker World Champion and ex-Question of Sport captain John Parrott is an avid Everton fan.

And just to prove the point, the 43-year-old pundit sits in the Gwladys Street end at Goodison and has club legend Duncan Ferguson as a brother-in-law.

Parrott (pictured) also once said: "I'm blue until I die - always have, been always will be."
