West Ham are on red alert after discovering Everton striker Nika Jelavic could be available in January.
The Hammers have failed to score in seven of their 12 Premier League matches and drew another blank in a 3-0 defeat against Chelsea on Saturday.
Sam Allardyce is desperate to add another frontman to solve his team's problems and Jelavic could be available - possibly on loan in January.
If a permanent transfer were to be agreed, the Blues would want to recoup all of the £5m they paid to sign the striker.
