Former Manchester United striker Diego Forlan has emerged as a surprise target for West Ham United when the January transfer window reopens.
With Andy Carroll injured and Carlton Cole and Mladen Petric not fully fit, the Hammers’ attacking options have been limited.
The 34-year-old spent two years with Manchester United but struggled to settle in the Premier Legaue.
The Uruguay international is currently playing for Internacional in Brazil but reports suggest he could be set for a move back to Europe.
