West Ham face a battle to secure the services of out-of-contract Manchester City midfielder Gareth Barry, according to the Daily Mail.
Barry, 33, will leave the Etihad Stadium when his contract expires on June 30 and has attracted interest from the Hammers and Everton.
The former England international spent last season on loan at Goodison Park and excelled for Roberto Martinez's side, making 38 league and cup appearances, scoring three times.
Hastings-born Barry joined the Citizens for £12m in 2009 and made 165 appearances for the club, winning the Premier League title in 2012 and the FA Cup in 2011.
Part of England's World Cup squad four years ago, Barry won 53 caps for the Three Lions.
