Stewart Downing played the first half as England beat Scotland 3-1 in an international friendly at Celtic Park last night.
Having been an unused substitute for Saturday’s 3-1 Euro 2016 qualifying win over Estonia on Saturday, the West Ham midfielder won his 35th cap and became the 39th Hammers player to appear for the senior side as an Alex Oxlade-Chamberlain header and Wayne Rooney’s brace secured the win over Gordon Strachan’s team.
Downing completed ten passes during a largely low key 45-minute appearance and was replaced by Adam Lallana at the start of the second half.
