FC Leytonstone just reached the semi-finals of the London Cup after almost contriving to blow a 4-0 lead, eventually progressing beyond Euro United 4-3.

Although it was eventually a closely-run result, Leytonstone took control from the outset and quickly snatched the opener through Ibrahim Khan.

And it did not take long for a second goal to follow, Sergio Garcia piercing the Euro United defence to double the Lemons' lead.

Trailing 2-0, Euro United did apply some pressure in a physical sense and that resulted in Micah Stennett being subbed off after twisting his hip in a 50:50 challenge.

Charles Gyamfi was the architect of Leytonstone's third goal, darting into the penalty area and picking out the run of Khan to put the Lemons 3-0 up.

Leytonstone piled on yet more misery just before the break when Khan was felled inside the area and Gyamfi tucked away the spot kick.

But the scoring was not done as just before half-time Euro United hit back to score twice after Leytonstone switched off defensively.

A third goal after the break set up a nervy finish but Leytonstone held on to claim all three points and seal their passage into the last four.

Manager Munaf Abhram commented: "In the first half we flourished and we played really well; we were intense, 0creative and had the desire to win but if you do not play well for 90 minutes it can be very risky."

Leytonstone's Under-16s went goal mad against Juva, winning 20-1 in a one-sided contest.

Jake Nelson led the way with seven goals, whilst Eduardo Litumba (5), Carlos Gomes (5), Maxwell Gomes (2) and Shiv Tailor completed the rout.
