West Ham United want to renew Carl Jenkinson’s loan deal, it has been reported, as the club pull out of the race to sign Glen Johnson.
According to the Daily Mail, the Hammers want to seal another agreement with Jenkinson’s parent club Arsenal after a successful first campaign for the right-back at Upton Park.
The 23-year-old made 36 appearances for the Iron last term during his season-long loan move and could return to the Hammers with opportunities at the Emirates Stadium likely to be limited.
New West Ham boss Slaven Bilic has, however, ended the club’s interest in former Hammers Johnson, who has just been released by Liverpool.
Bilic’s former club Besiktas are one of the many clubs interested in offering the England defender a deal.
