West Ham United have appointed ex-England international Chris Woods as their new goalkeeping coach.
The ex-Nottingham Forest, Queens Park Rangers, Norwich City, Rangers and Sheffield Wednesday keeper will become part of new manager Slaven Bilic’s coaching team.
The 55-year-old made 43 appearances for England between 1985 and 1993 and brings a vast amount of coaching experience to the role.
He spent 15 years at Everton, chiefly under David Moyes, and the former stopper followed the current Real Sociedad boss to Manchester United at the start of the 2013/14 campaign.
Woods told the Hammers’ website: “I am thrilled to be joining West Ham United. It is a club with a great history and tradition.
“I’ve known Slaven from my time at Everton and we go back a long way even though we have gone on our different paths since he left Goodison Park.
“It will be great for me to get back working alongside him and I am pleased to be given the opportunity.”
Woods has also worked as the USA men's national team's goalkeeping coach after previously playing for the Colarado Rapids in 1996.
