Liverpool flop Fabio Borini could be set to join West Ham United, as new Hammers boss Slaven Bilic looks to finalise a reported £8 million move.

The 24-year-old will head to London to discuss personal terms and undergo a medical in the next 24 hours, according to the Sun.

For the move to go through, West Ham would have to meet the Italian international’s £100,000-a-week wage demands, but this is not expected to be an issue.

Despite making only 38 appearances and scoring just three times in all competitions for Liverpool since joining in 2012, the Reds look likely to recoup the majority of the £11.7 million they spent to secure the forward’s services from Roma as they aim to fund a move for Aston Villa’s Christian Benteke.

Borini’s time in England has not been all bad, though, and the striker had success on loan at Sunderland during the 2013/14 season, scoring ten times in 40 starts.

But although Liverpool and the Black Cats agreed a fee for a permanent deal at the end of that season, the former Chelsea youngster turned down a permanent move to the north east.
