West Ham United are reportedly plotting to bring Queens Park Rangers goalkeeper Rob Green back to Upton Park to provide competition for Adrian.

Green, 35, has spent three years away from the club after moving to QPR, with whom he has twice been relegated during his stay at Loftus Road.

The England international enjoyed a highly successful spell in east London, making 219 league appearances for the Hammers during a six-year stay with the Hammers.

He crossed the river to west London following the Championship Play-off Final victory to Blackpool in 2012.

But with England high on his agenda after a recall to the squad by boss Roy Hodgson in March, Green will be tempted by a return to the Premier League in order to cement his place in the squad, according to the London Evening Standard.

Regular number one Adrian was sent off at the weekend for a high boot on Leicester City striker Jamie Vardy, which will leave the Spaniard missing from crucial games against Bournemouth, Liverpool and Newcastle in the coming weeks, unless the Hammers' appeal against suspension is successful.
