West Ham United have made Victor Moses their first deadline day signing as he joins from Chelsea on a season-long loan.

The winger’s transfer was this morning confirmed by Jack Sullivan, the son of co-owner David, who tweeted: “Moses has signed a season long loan deal.”

London rivals Tottenham Hotpsur were rumoured to have made a late swoop for the Nigerian yesterday, but Slaven Bilic’s side beat them to his signature.

Moses becomes West Ham’s second season-long loan signing in as many days, having captured Alex Song from Barcelona on a similar deal yesterday.

The 24-year-old, who is also the Hammers’ ninth summer signing, was part of Stoke City’s squad last season but failed to make a great impact as he scored just four times in 23 appearances.

The former Crystal Palace and Wigan Athletic man previously had a season on loan at Liverpool after his first campaign at Chelsea.
