West Ham United midfielder Josh Cullen has signed a new three-year deal to keep him at the club until 2018.

The 19-year-old made his Premier League debut as an injury time substitute in Saturday’s 3-0 win over Liverpool at Anfield and also featured in West Ham’s Europa League qualifying campaign.

Cullen joined West Ham as a schoolboy and the club have rewarded the youngster for his early promise with a long-term deal.

He told the Hammers’ website: “I’m delighted to get the deal done and extend my time at West Ham. I'm over the moon to get another couple of years and I'm looking forward to the club moving forward and hopefully progressing to the first team.

"The last couple of months have all gone quite quickly and I've had to take step back to take it all in. Obviously playing in the Europa League was a great experience, playing in front of a packed Upton Park was a special moment.

"Then going on at Anfield [for my Premier League debut] on Saturday was another moment that I'll remember for the rest of my life.

"The whole of the last couple of months have been fantastic and I just hope that it can continue.”

Cullen has represented both England and the Republic of Ireland at youth level and will join up with the Republic of Ireland Under-21s this week for the first time.
