Hammers captain Mark Noble admits the team did not deserve anything from the Watford match after losing their unbeaten away record in the Premier League.

West Ham produced a very disappointing performance as they were beaten 2-0 at Vicarage Road on Saturday and Noble was frustrated with the manner of their defeat.

The midfielder told the club website: "We actually started alright for the first five or ten minutes, but then they grew into the game.

"We weren't on it for sure - we weren't the team we normally are. The run had to come to an end [at some point], but it has come to an end in a disappointing manner.

"The second goal so soon after half time killed the game. They scored at a great time for them, but saying that we had a couple of chances outselves."

Noble added: "But all in all, if I'm an honest man, I'll have to say that we didn't deserve to get anything from it.

"If we say if Enner's [Valencia] chance had gone in it could have changed the game, I think we're clutching at straws. Watford played very well, but of course it is disappointing to lose our unbeaten run like this."

It was only the Hammers' third defeat in the league this season and leaves them sixth in the table.

The experienced midfielder admits it was one of those days where the side were well below par.

Noble said: "We've already said in the dressing room that we know we're a very good team with very good players, but it didn't click on the day.

"You're going to get games like that during the season, we're not going to go through the season unbeaten, but the manner in which we lost wasn't good enough."
