Aaron Cresswell has signed a one-year extension to his long-term contract at West Ham United.

The 26-year-old signed a new deal which will keep him at the club until 2021 after impressing manager Slaven Bilic.

The left-back told the West Ham TV this is great news for him.

He added: “I’ve been here for two years now and I’m looking forward to the next five seasons now that I’ve signed.

“Last season, especially with it being the last season at the Boleyn Ground, was pretty special, with the Manchester United game one which will live with me forever.

“This season, we’re all looking forward to the new stadium that’s up and running now, the first game with Juventus which is obviously going to be a fantastic day, and the season ahead.”

The defender, who won Hammer of Year award in his debut season, signed from Ipswich Town in the summer of 2014.

Cresswell and the Hammers are now determined to improve on their showings in both domestic and European competitions for the 2016/17 season.

“Last year in Europe, it was hard with coming back very early and travelling, as we didn’t have much time to prepare and it was a new experience going to places like Andorra and Malta away,” he said.

“We’re more prepared this year for the European games and can’t wait for them, we’re definitely well equipped.

“We’ve got some young players over here (Seattle) with us and there will be new players coming in and maybe some leaving.

“It’s exciting times.”

West Ham are currently on a USA pre-season tour where they are training at facilities provided by NFL’s Seattle Seahawks and will face the Seattle Sounders at CenturyLink Field this evening.
