JAMES COLLINS is adamant that the points will soon start to come West Ham’s way after the team picked up its first clean sheet since February.
Saturday's stalemate with Portsmouth was a massive step forward for the Irons, although it still means Gianfranco Zola's men have scooped just two points from the last possible 21 available.
However, Collins said: “We’ve not been happy. We’ve been disappointed with the way the results have been going but the gaffer said it himself, we have been playing quite good football.
“As long as we keep doing that and defending well I’m sure we can start picking up points."
But getting goals has been equally difficult to come by, the team having notched just three times in the last seven outings.
Yet Collins believes that the goalless draw with Pompey is a great platform with which to build.
“It helps if you keep a clean sheet for starters,” added the Wales defender.
“Obviously we’ve done that although we couldn’t find that cutting edge to get a goal (against Portsmouth). But I’m sure that will come, that bit of luck in front of goal.
“We’ll take the positives from the game and use it as a springboard to kick on. We can now go to Sunderland on Sunday and build on that.”
