WEST Ham have no game this weekend, due to the international break.
However, it does not mean the club's top players will be putting their feet up.
As many as nine Hammers could be playing for their respective countries. And Mexican Pablo Barrera faces an 11,000-mile round trip for friendlies against Ecuador and Colombia.
No doubt Barrera and his West Ham team-mates will still be relieved to have a break from the Premier League. The Iron remain bottom after Saturday's 3-0 defeat against Manchester United at Old Trafford.
The Red Devils proved just too strong for Avram Grant's side. Not that the next Premier League game (on September 11) will be much easier. It is champions Chelsea who come to Upton Park.
Boss Grant said: "Chelsea is a tough fixture and I can't ever remember a team at our level having such tough fixtures at the beginning of the season."
