Former West Ham striker Savio has gone missing for the second time in a year.

The Ugandan-born forward has not been seen for nine days and also went missing in October for a week.

Savio joined the Hammers in 2009 in a £9m deal but failed to settle and moved to Italy where he now plays for Juve Stabia.

The Serie B club's sporting director Salvatore Di Somma said: "The player's mother lodged a complaint with Interpol and the police have released a photo of him to try to find him soon.

"Currently there is still no trace of the player and his family, close friends or police don't know where he is or what has happened.

"I am sorry above all for the human impact of this affair and naturally hope he can be found as quickly as possible."
