Hammers agree Maynard fee (From East London and West Essex Guardian Series)

Bristol City striker set to join fellow newcomers from Manchester United and Barnsley at West Ham United

West Ham have agreed a fee of £1.65m for Nicky Maynard, it is reported tonight.

Hammers boss Sam Allardyce has already signed Manchester United's Ravel Morrison and Ricardo Vaz Te, from Barnsley, and the Bristol City striker is poised to become his third attacking signing of deadline day.

The highly-rated Maynard, who is out of contract in the summer, has attracted plenty of interest since being told he can leave Ashton Gate.
