WEST Ham have signed sought-after 17-year-old Icelandic defender Holmar Orn Eyjolfsson, according to reports today.
The east Londoners have fought off a number of top clubs, including German giants Bayern Munich, to land the highly-rated youngster, according to the Icelandic press.
Eyjolfsson, who plays for HK Kopavogur, made his debut in the Icelandic Premiership aged just 16 and is a regular with the nation's U21s side.
He was also named in UEFA's team of the tournament at last year's U17 European Championship.
The centre half reportedly spent a month training with the Hammers in February.
