One Direction have become one of the most streamed artists of all time after exceeding 100 million streams of their songs.

The boyband's music has been streamed by users around the world over 100 million times on Spotify in just over a year, since the release of their debut album Up All Night. They are now officially one of the most streamed stars, alongside the likes of David Guetta, Lady Gaga and Justin Bieber.

The lads, Niall Horan, Zayn Malik, Liam Payne, Harry Styles and Louis Tomlinson, are marking the milestone with the release of the 1D Music app with Spotify so they can share more tunes with fans.

As well as streaming the band's music, fans can also use the 1D Music app to listen to playlists made by the boys and find out what music they're listening to, as well as create and send playlists to 1D, who will choose and post their favourites in a fan Hall of Fame.

One Direction said: "As well as our new album you can check out what we've been listening to over the last couple of years and the music we're listening to right now!"
