A police investigation is under way after items allegedly stolen from David and Victoria Beckham apparently appeared for sale on eBay.
Two housekeepers who worked at the couple's Hertfordshire mansion were arrested on suspicion of theft and released on police bail.
Suspicions were raised when memorabilia belonging to the former England captain and his pop star wife appeared on the eBay auction site.
According to reports, the former Spice Girl's parents Tony and Jackie Adams spotted some of their daughter's designer clothes on offer to bidders, along with the footballer's worn boots, and then discovered the items were missing from the Beckhams' Rowneybury House mansion in Hertfordshire.
A spokesman for eBay said they were co-operating with Hertfordshire Police to establish what had happened.
"If it transpires that our site was being used to list stolen goods then we will work with the police to press for the harshest penalties," he added.
A spokesman for Hertfordshire Police said they were investigating an allegation of theft from a private address.
"The theft was reported to police at 4.45pm on Friday October 10," he said. "A 56-year-old woman from Essex and a 55-year-old man also from Essex have been arrested in connection with this incident and are currently on police bail."
Former Manchester United and Real Madrid star Beckham, 33, moved to Los Angeles with his wife and three sons last year in a blaze of publicity. The couple now divide their time between LA and Rowneybury House - nicknamed "Beckingham Palace".
Some of the items offered on eBay are thought to include football boots emblazoned with the names of the three boys - Brooklyn, Romeo and Cruz.
