Scotland manager Craig Levein is sweating over the fitness of Steven Whittaker ahead of Tuesday's European Championship qualifier against Liechtenstein.
The Rangers full-back is struggling with a calf injury sustained during Friday's goalless draw in Lithuania. Fellow Ibrox player Kirk Broadfoot will return to Rangers after sustaining an ankle knock, while there are still question marks over Lee Wallace and Kevin McNaughton who both missed the trip to Kaunas.
Levein said: "There are one or two still to be assessed. Steven Whittaker is the main concern. He took a calf knock on Friday and it's a haematoma so he is touch and go."
He added: "Kirk turned his ankle in training on Sunday and will go back to his club. It's nothing too serious but it will keep him out of Tuesday's game."
Jay McEveley could come into contention but Whittaker will be given every chance.
Levein added: "We will give Steven an opportunity. He's a high class player and versatile players are worth their weight in gold."
