THE family of a man who was killed as he tried to break up a fight will have to endure a further wait for answers after an inquest into his death was delayed until next year.

David Joslin, 23, was knocked unconscious as he intervened in an argument between a group in Old Church Road, Chingford, just before Christmas in 2009 and died of head injuries eight days later.

His killer remains at large despite repeated pleas from his brave family for witnesses to come forward and police have exhausted all lines of enquiry.

An inquest into his death was due to take place on Tuesday (November 29), but was postponed until next year after the coroner requested an independent expert to look at Mr Joslin’s initial treatment at Whipps Cross University Hospital.

Margaret Joslin, of Kimberley Road, Chingford, said she was anxious that she will will have to wait to find out more about why her son died.

She added: “It’s frustrating to have this delay but the inquest is all we’re going to get.”

“It’s extremely hard to take, especially when you have done your best by the authorities.”

Mrs Joslin said her children gave her strength as the second anniversary of her son’s death drew near.

She added: “It’s still very raw. It’s very sad and very hard, we will never get over it. Some days are easier than others but what keeps me going is the fact I have Andrew and Lauren.

“Your life changes forever. There’s always going to be an empty seat there.”

She added that she and her husband Phil still feel let down by the justice system.

“We know someone punched my son and we know who it is and it’s disgusting that we have not got any justice. There’s still so many unanswered questions,” she said.

It's amazing how many people don't. won't, or can't be bothered to help this family.

I sometimes wish Karma did exist!
