THE man accused of shooting the owner of a milkshake parlour has had his plea hearing adjourned to coincide with that of a co-defendant.
Temidire Owolabi, 21, of no fixed address, formerly of Brandon Close, Chafford Hundred in Grays, Essex, is charged with attempted murder, possession of a shotgun with intent to endanger life and possession of a firearm with intent to endanger life.
He was due to enter a plea at the Old Bailey today (January 30), but it has emerged that another man has been charged in relation to the case and the two will now plead on March 12 with a trial pencilled in for May 8.
Owolabi’s co-defendant is Romaine Arthur, 22, of Hazel Way in Chingford.
He was arrested and charged on January 25 with perverting the course of justice, witness intimidation and conspiracy to murder.
An 18-year-old man was also arrested on January 25 and has been bailed until March 21.
The charges against Arthur and Owolabi relate to an incident on November 14 last year when 24-year-old James Bryant was shot while clearing up the damage from a previous shooting at Cakes & Shakes on Woodford Green High Road.
Mr Bryant was left fighting for his life after the incident, but was released from hospital earlier this month.
A public meeting to discuss issues arising from the shooting will be held on February 3 at Woodford Methodist Church in Derby Road, South Woodford, between 5pm to 7pm.
