Before you indulge yourself in my article, please be very aware that I have not suffered in any shape or form from the strong, hard-hitting effect of black on black crime, but my peers and others around me have.

Also, the fact that it is very hard for me to tell it like it is in this article, as my views will be thought of as risqué.

It seems like every other month a black youth is brutally murdered by another black youth.

Do not think that I’m generalising because it’s just not the black youth killing other black youths, but this is more common.

People do not seem to realise the effects that it has on everybody when a youth is murdered.

For example, recently a black youth was murdered in my local area and the traumatic effects it had on the friends that both he and I shared were heart- wrenching.

It was absolutely awful seeing my friends so distraught.

How are we, as a nation, tackling this disease-like problem? The murderers are like animals – they see something and they think that the only way of getting it, is to kill it.
