THE BARNET (CHARGED-FOR PARKING PLACES) (AMENDMENT NO.79) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2020
NOTICE IS HEREBYGIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet has made, on 2nd July 2020, the above-mentioned Orders under Section 9ofthe Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers.
New engineering measures will be introduced in certain town centres within the borough, entailing the suspension of various loading and parking places and the subsequent widening of the effective footway area thus allowing pedestrians to maintain social distancing. The general effect of the Orders will be to introduce, on an experimental basis, the following measures:
1. two disabled badge holders' only parking bays operative at all times will be provided on Penshurst Gardens HA8, adjacent to No. 248 Station Road, by converting the existing pay by phone parking place.

2. two disabled badge holders' only parking bays operative at all times will be provided outside Nos. 9and 11 Edgwarebury Lane HA8, by converting part of an existing pay by phone parking place.

3. two disabled badge holders' only parking bays operative at all times will be provided outside Nos. 10, 11, 12 and 13 The Quadrant Manor Park Crescent HA8, by converting the existing pay by phone parking place.

4. two disabled badge holders' only parking bays operative at all times will be provided opposite Nos. 10, 11 and 12, The Quadrant, Manor Park Crescent HA8, by converting part of an existing pay by phone parking place.

5. adisabled badge holders' only parking bays operative at all times will be provided outside Nos. 151/153 StationRoadHA8, by removing part of an existing bus stop clearway.

6. two disabled badge holders' only parking bays operative at all times with a3hourmaximum stay,and no-return within one hour, will be provided outside Nos. 123, 125 and 127 High Street EN5, by converting part of an existing pay by phone parking place.

7. adisabled badge holders' only parking bay operative at all times with a3hour maximum stay,and no-return withinone hour will be provided on Union Street EN5, adjacent to Nos. 75 and 77 High Street, and outside No. 1a Union Street, by converting the existing resident permit parking place.

Acopy of the Orders, which will come into operation on Thursday 9th July 2020, aplan of the relevant areas and the Council's Statements of Reasons formaking the Orderscan be obtainedfor aperiod of 6months from the date on which this notice is published by emailing traffic.

or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 6th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue,Colindale, London NW9 4EW, quoting reference: BC/001871-01 Social Distancing in Town Centres. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of its provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulation made there-under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court.
The Order provides that, in pursuance of Section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Chief Executive of the Council or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, ifitappears to him essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the operation of the Orders or any provision thereof.
If the provisions of the Orders continue in operation for aperiod of not less than six months, the Council willconsider in duecourse whether the provisions of the Orders should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely. Anyonewho wishes to object to the making of such Orders for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the period of six months from the date on which the Orders came into operation, send astatement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to Design Team, 2Bristol Avenue,Colindale, London, NW9 4EW or via email to
