AND STOPPING RESTRICTIONS) (AMENDMENT NO.132) (EXPERIMENTAL) ORDER 2021
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the Council of the London Borough of Barnet has, on 18th February 2021, made the above-mentioned Orders under Section 9 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 and all other enabling powers. In order to deter non-resident type parking from taking place thus improving resident parking opportunity and reducing traffic congestion in Crewys Road NW2, the Council consider that it will be beneficial to introduce a scheme, on an experimental basis, that will amend the Controlled Parking Zone (CPZ) operational hours in Crewys Road NW9, to deter motorists from driving into the area. Therefore, the general effect of the Charged-For Order will be, on an experimental basis, to:
1 (a) increase he operational hours of the resident permit holder only parking places and the shared use permit holder only parking places in Crewys Road NW2 from 11 am to Midday, Monday to Friday to 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
In order to deter obstruction and improve safety for both pedestrians and motorists the general effect of the Free Order will be, on an experimental basis, to:
2(a) amend the existing yellow lines where parking places are not provided in certain sections of Crewys Road NW2 from 11 am -12pm Monday to Friday to 10am to 5pm Monday to Friday.
2(b) upgrade the existing 11 am to Midday, Monday to Friday waiting restrictions to 'At any time' waiting restriction at the junctions of Nant Road and Crewys Road and Crewys Road at its junction with Llanelly Road.
The Orders provide that, in pursuance of section 10(2) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984, the Chief Executive of the Council or some person authorised in that behalf by him, may, if it appears to him essential in the interests of the expeditious, convenient and safe movement of traffic or for preserving or improving the amenities of the area through which any road affected by the Orders run, modify or suspend the operation of the Orders or any provision thereof. Copies of the Orders, which will come into operation on Monday 22nd February 2021, a plan of the relevant areas and the Council's Statements of Reasons for making the Orders can be obtained for a period of 6 months from the date on which this notice is published by emailing
or by writing to the Design Team, Highways Section, 6th Floor, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London NW9 4EW, quoting reference: Crewys Road Experimental CPZ TMO 2021 _06 and 2021 _07 Further information may be obtained by telephoning 020 8359 3555. Any person wishing to question the validity of the Orders or any of their provisions on the grounds that they are not within the relevant powers of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 or that any of the relevant requirements thereof or of any regulation made there-under have not been complied with in relation to the Orders may within six weeks of the date on which the Orders were made, make application for the purpose to the High Court. If the provisions of the Orders continue in operation for a period of not less than six months, the Council will consider in due course whether the provisions of the Orders should be reproduced and continued in force indefinitely. Anyone who wishes to object to the making of such Orders for the purpose of such reproduction and continuation in force may, within the period of six months from the date on which the Orders came into operation, send a statement in writing of their objection and the grounds thereof to Design Team, 2 Bristol Avenue, Colindale, London, NW9 4EW or via email email@example.com
