PUBLIC NOTICE OF VIRTUAL INQUIRY
The Town & Country Planning Act 1990 Acquisition of Land Act 1981
The London Borough of Enfield (Meridian Water Strategic Infrastructure Works) Compulsory Purchase Order 2020
WHEREAS The London Borough of Enfield have submitted to the Secretary of State for Housing, Communities and Local Government for confirmation of an Order made by them under section 226 of the Town & Country Planning Act 1990 and also an application by them for a certificate under section 19 and schedule 3 of the Acquisition of Land Act 1981, which would authorise them to acquire compulsorily the land and new rights referred to in the Schedule hereto for the purpose of facilitating the development, redevelopment or improvement through the undertaking of strategic infrastructure works which are likely to contribute to the achievement of the promotion or improvement of the economic, social or environmental well-being of the Acquiring Authority's area.
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that a virtual public local inquiry into this matter will be held by D J Board BSc (Hons) MA MRTPI on 19 April 2021 at 10.00 am.
The public inquiry will be conducted virtually via Microsoft Teams. Please register, by emailing Stephen Waterfield of the Planning Inspectorate at
, if you intend to attend the Inquiry. Please provide the title of the order, the purpose for you attending the public inquiry and your address and interest in the land.
A copy of the Order and of the accompanying map may be seen at all reasonable hours at the following venues:

SCHEDULE
The land and new rights to be acquired
The land and buildings located within the area known as Meridian Water comprising land to the east of the West Anglia Mainline railway bounded by the North Circular to the north, Leeside Road in the south and the Lee Navigation to the east (which includes land adjoining the IKEA store, land adjoining the Tesco store and also the Orbital Business Park), industrial land to the east of the Lee Navigation (including the former site of Stonehill Business Park) as well as green belt land between Harbet Road and the River Lee. The new rights to be purchased compulsorily over land described above which will comprise the construction of new roads, footpaths, cycleways and bridges, land remediation, new utilities and the diversion of existing utilities, and flood alleviation works, and include temporary construction rights including access for construction and oversailing rights. Full details are recorded in the Schedule to the Order.
