(Rectory Road, Little Burstead) (Temporary Prohibition of Traffic & 30MPH/40MPH) Order 2016
Notice is hereby given that the Essex County Council intends, not less than seven days from the date of this notice, to make the above Order under Section 14(1) of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984. Effect of the order:
1. To temporarily close the following lengths of Rectory Road, Little Burstead in the Borough of Basildon:
Road Description Times
Rectory Road, From the entrance to The Church of Saint 19:30h to Little Burstead Mary the Virgin Little Burstead, south for 06:30h a distance of approximately 1000 metres to the bridge that spans the River Crouch
2. A 24hr temporary 30MPH speed limit will be imposed on the above length of road for safety reasons.
The Essex County Council (Rectory Road, Little Burstead) (40mph Speed Limit) Order 2014 is hereby temporarily suspended insofar as it relates to the above length of Rectory Road only, the remaining length of the 40MPH which is located from its junction with Laindon Common Road (both arms) in a generally south easterly direction to the entrance to The Church of Saint Mary the Virgin Little Burstead will remain in force.
3. There will also be a temporary 40MPH speed limit in place on Rectory Road, Little Burstead in the Borough of Basildon, from its junction with Dunton Road, north for a distance of approximately 181 metres to the bridge that spans the River Crouch. This will be in place to gradually reduce vehicle speeds.
The temporary restrictions are scheduled to commence on 5 January 2017 for 12 weeks, or where appropriate signs are showing and weather permitting, and are required for the safety of the public while essential drainage works are undertaken.
The alternative route will be via Clock House Road, Botney Hill Road, Dunton Road and vice versa.
Access for emergency service vehicles and pedestrians will be maintained at all times during the closure.
The Orders will come into effect on 5 January 2017 and may continue in force for 18 months or until the works have been completed, whichever is the earlier.
