BRACKNELL FOREST BOROUGH COUNCIL (FOOTPATH NO. 23, BRACKNELL] [TEMPORARY PROHIBITION OF PEDESTRIANS & CYCLISTS) ORDER 2017
Notice is hereby given that Bracknell Forest Borough Council has made an Order, in accordance with Section 14 of the Road Traffic Regulation Act 1984 the effect of which is to prohibit any pedestrian or cyclist from proceeding in any direction along footpath no. 23 between its junction with Nightingale Crescent and a point adjacent to the westernmost boundary of 40b Elizabeth Close.
The alternative route for pedestrians and cyclists affected by the closure will be via footpath no. 23, the footway link between footpath no. 23 and Firiands (adjacent to nos. 11 to 14 Firiands), the footway facilities in Firiands and the footway link between Firiands and footpath no. 23 (adjacent to nos.1 to 11 Nightingale Crescent), or via this route in reverse. It should be noted there are sections of the diversion route where cyclists will be required to dismount and these will be signed accordingly.
The purpose of this Order is to enable works to be safely executed on the footpath, namely the replacement of a water mains.
The Order was made on 27th March 2017 and will come into operation on the 1st April 2017. Although the Order will have a maximum duration of 12 months it is anticipated that the works requiring the road closure will be completed by 18th April 2017. An additional closure will be necessary later in the year and residents & users will be informed in advance of this. This Order shall only apply when the appropriate signs are displayed in the road.
