APPROPRIATION OF LAND CONSISTING OF OPEN SPACE ADJACENT TO EDMONTON CEMETERY
NOTICE IS HEREBY GIVEN that the London Borough of Enfield ("the Council") intends to appropriate land comprising fourteen public tennis courts adjacent to the A10 and Edmonton Cemetery in order to facilitate the expansion of Edmonton Cemetery. The area to be appropriated is currently used as open space.
Requirements for the appropriation of land by local authorities are contained in Section 122 of the Local Government Act 1972. Sub section 2(2A) of that Act requires notice of any proposal to appropriate land consisting of an open space to be published in a local newspaper for two consecutive weeks so that any person wishing to raise an objection to the sale may do so.
A copy of this notice and the plan identifying the open space will be available for inspection for a period of fourteen days from Wednesday 11 October 2017 to Tuesday 24 October 2017 at Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield EN1 3XA, between 9.00 a.m. and 5.00 p.m., Monday to Friday. Enquiries should be directed to the Assistant Director (Legal and Governance Services) of the Council (for the attention of Melanie Dawson).
Any objection to the proposed appropriation must be submitted in writing and should be addressed to the Assistant Director (Legal and Governance Services) (attention: Melanie Dawson), London Borough of Enfield, P.O. Box 50, Civic Centre, Silver Street, Enfield EN1 3XA and must be received before Tuesday 24 October 2017
